18th & Vine Arts Festival 2025 Artist Application

Overview: We are excited to invite talented artists from diverse disciplines to apply for the 2025 18th & Vine Arts Festival! This premier event celebrates Black artists and those of the African diaspora by showcasing their work across music, visual arts, performance, fashion, and more. Hosted in Kansas City's historic 18th & Vine District, this festival provides an unparalleled platform to connect with audiences, network with fellow creatives, and celebrate Black art and culture.

By completing this application, you are taking the first step toward becoming part of an inspiring event that amplifies Black creativity and fosters an inclusive arts community.

Application Details:

• Application Fee: $30 (non-refundable) due at the time of submission.

• Fee Waiver: Artists aged 13-17 can have their fee waived. Contact (816) 760-2278 for more information.

• Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM Central Time on July 15, 2025.

• Review by the 18th & Vine Arts Festival Selection Committee.

Eligibility:

• Artists from all creative disciplines (visual art, music, performance, fashion, and more) are encouraged to apply.

Required Information:

The application form will collect the following details:

• Personal Details:

  • Name

  • Age

  • Artist Name/Business Name

  • Email Address

  • Phone Number

  • Mailing Address

• Artistic Information:

  • Artist Website or Portfolio

  • Social Media Links (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter)

  • Music Streaming Links (if applicable, such as Spotify or Apple Music)

  • Medium of Art (visual art, music, performance, etc.)

• Supporting Materials:

  • Visual Artists: Upload four (4) high-resolution photos of your work. If you are an exhibition artist, you must also submit one (1) photo of your display, including your white 10’x10’ tent.

  • Performing Artists: Submit one (1) live video of your performance. Musicians, singers, and bands must also have music on a streaming platform.

Display Requirements for Visual Artists:

• All booths must include professional and aesthetically pleasing displays.

• Tents must be white and made of flame-retardant material, with appropriate anchoring using sandbags or equivalent stabilizers.

• Racks and signs must be covered; handwritten sale signs are prohibited.

• The 18th & Vine Arts Festival is not liable for lost, damaged, or stolen property. Artists are encouraged to insure their work.

Expectations and Obligations:

1. Festival Dates & Attendance:

   • You must be present during all festival hours:

     • Friday, September 28, 2025: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

     • Saturday, September 29, 2025: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

     • Sunday, September 30, 2025: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

   • Load-in must be completed:

     • Friday: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

     • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM

2. Marketing & Promotion:

   • Promote your participation in the festival on your social media platforms.

   • Use official festival hashtags:

     • #18thAndVineArts

     • #18thandvineartsfest

   • Submit a headshot, logo, and artist bio by August 1, 2025, to Info@18thandvineartsfest.org.

3. Conduct:

   • Conduct yourself professionally and respectfully throughout the festival.

   • Non-compliance with festival rules may result in removal from the event without a refund.

4. Ownership & Copyright:

   • Artists retain ownership and copyright of their work unless sold to a buyer during the festival.

   • By participating, you grant the festival permission to use photos and videos of your booth and artwork for promotional purposes.

General Release & Agreement:

By submitting this application, you agree to the festival’s Terms and Conditions, including:

• All submitted work is handcrafted by the applicant.

• The application fee is non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation, withdrawal, or rejection.

• The festival is not liable for cancellations due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
